Highways England report that the dates have been changed for the planned drainage and repair work, which will see selective closures of the A47 between Trowse Newton and Acle.

Work will now start on Monday 29th November until March 2022.  Work will take place on weeknights only between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting. No work will be carried out over the Christmas/New Year period, 23rd December 2021 to 4th January 2022. However, traffic management may be left in place if it’s not safe to remove it.

Closures and Diversions
To carry out our work safely, the A47 will be closed at various locations, either eastbound or westbound, as work progresses. All closures will be overnight between 8pm and 6am. The table below sets out where the contractors are working and when and maps of the closure points are shown on the image.

When the A47 is closed, regardless of location, westbound drivers will be diverted off the A47 to Beccles, onto the A143 to Gillingham, then on to the A146, before re-joining the A47 at Trowse Newton. Eastbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in reverse.
