The famous yellow ofo bikes have arrived at Broadland Business Park and are set up adjacent to three of the office buildings on the Park, Lakeside 400, Lakeside 500 and Bankside 300.

ofo bikes are rented with a smartphone app which connects via Bluetooth to ‘smartlocks’ on the bikes. These ‘smartlocks’ ensure users know the location of each bike, making finding and hiring the bikes simple and straightforward. It also allows ofo’s operations team to monitor distribution of bikes, bike parking and maintenance.

The bikes cost 50p per half hour, capped at £5 per day.

Docks for the ofo bikes have been set up adjacent to three of the office buildings on Broadland Business Park, Lakeside 400, Lakeside 500 and Bankside 300.

Joanna Thornton, estate manager at Broadland Business Park, said: “We are really pleased to have ofo bikes available at Broadland. We are the first business park in the city to offer this facility and it provides very useful, healthy and cheap transport for people working on the Park.

“We have cycle paths traversing Broadland Business Park that link to the local cycle network and a lot of people working here cycle to work, which we encourage. Having ofo bikes easily available feeds into the green travel planning strategy for Broadland Business Park and fits very well with our green travel ethos.”

They were launched on Friday, 16th March 2018 by Paul Harding and Giles Aves, from the ofo operations team, pictured here with estate manager, Joanna Thornton.
