Contractors Kier will be completing survey works on the A47 westbound, Postwick interchange to Ipswich Road, on behalf of Highways England. These surveys will allow them to investigate potential issues and programme any future works necessary to maintain the existing infrastructure. Whilst in the area, they will also use the closure to perform pothole repair works.
 
Kier plans to complete this work over ten nights, from Monday 30th April, with working hours of 21.00 to 06.00, weeknights only, weather permitting. A full closure of A47 westbound between Postwick interchange and Ipswich Road will be in place.
 
Motorists are advised to allow extra time to complete their journey whilst using the diversion route, whilst sticking to speed limits and following appropriate signage.

Traffic will be diverted via the A1270 on to Broadland Northway (NDR), Wroxham Road, A11 Newmarket Road, before re-joining the A47 at Thickthorn interchange.
