A Norwich primary school has brought an unused mobile classroom back into use, thanks to the donation of carpet tiles from one of Broadland Business Park’s latest tenants.

Working on Wellbeing, part of specialist occupational health providers, Optima Health, has been working on the fit out of their new offices in the recently refurbished Lakeside 300 building on Broadland Business Park (pictured).

With a number of carpet tiles surplus to requirements, Broadland Business Park’s estate manager, Joanna Thornton sought to put them to good use.

She said: “We are very keen to support our local community so, as part of our environmental, social and governance policy, we wanted to donate the carpet tiles to a worthy cause. Hemblington Primary School are currently replacing the floor of a mobile classroom unit that has been out of use awaiting repairs and funding. We spoke to Optima Health who were delighted to help us with the donation and we are so pleased that they are being put to good community use.”

Louise Norgate, executive headteacher at Hemblington Primary School said: “We are so very grateful to Broadland Business Park and Optima Health. The mobile classroom has been out of use since last summer. We can now get on with repairing and refurbishing it, getting it back into use and creating a better learning environment for the children.”

Emma Shreeve, regional operations manager for Optima Health said: “This is lovely way to help the local community and a great use of surplus materials. I hope the children enjoy their new classroom!”
