Cycle to Work Day – 13 September 2017
Since its inception in 2013, employers have played a huge part in making Cycle to Work Day both successful and meaningful. Employer support can be something as simple as a group email to remind staff of Cycle to Work Day’s date or getting involved with coordinating events and activities across multiple workplaces UK-wide! Here at Broadland Business Park, we are great supporters of Cycle to Work Day and are encouraging everyone on the Park to get involved.
Cycle to Work Day offers employers of all sizes a platform that can be used to promote active travel and healthy living – two themes that are increasingly important in the modern world – to their workforce. Employer advocacy of cycling is crucial if we are to create a culture of cycling in the UK. Businesses who take cycling advocacy seriously will reap the rewards. Employers that actively promote cycling generate additional car parking spaces, enjoy improved rates of staff retention and cultivate a healthier workforce. They can also save money for both their staff and the business through Government initatives such as the Cycle to Work scheme.
