Ineos planning new British 4×4
Chemicals company, Ineos, which has an office at Broadland Business Park, has announced plans to build a British 4×4 in the spirit of the Land Rover Defender, production of which ended after 67 years in 2016.
According to media reports, the company wants to build the world’s purest 4×4, with plans to sell to explorers, farmers and off-road enthusiasts across the world.
The company envisages a market in the "tens of thousands" per year for the new car and that building it Britain would be an important selling feature. A new company, Ineos Automotive, has been set up and is recruiting car industry experts.
