More Bike Week activity!
Give cycling a go during Bike Week 2015 and be in with a chance of winning a FitBit!
To celebrate Bike Week 2015 (Saturday 13 June through Sunday 21 June), Norfolk County Council is inviting workplaces on Broadland Business Park to participate in the Bike Week 2015 Workplace Challenge. Don't miss your chance to win! Everyone who participates and logs at least one cycling activity will be entered in the Active Norfolk's prize draw for a FitBit!
Novice Cycle Racing League at Lotus Cars Test Track (starting Wednesday 10 June)
To celebrate the Tour of Britain coming back through Norfolk in September, South Norfolk Council has teamed up with the Lotus Cycle Racing League, Pedal Revolution and Active Norfolk's Fit4Work programme to run the inaugural South Norfolk Council Novice Team Championship. Teams of four people will be able to compete in the new novice-only races held on the fabulous traffic-free, smooth and wide circuit at the historic Lotus Cars test track at Hethel, near Wymondham.
The series is intended to inspire Norfolk businesses to enter a team of riders and learn the ropes alongside a field of equally new and inexperienced riders. The competition will be held over six consecutive Wednesday nights from the 10th June 2015 and each round the position of each team's 3rd placed rider will score the team points in the Championship title prize. The racing will start at 7:30pm each Wednesday and each race will between 5 and 10 miles, or about 20-30 minutes in duration. Riders don't necessarily need all the kit either; a limited number of free loan bikes are available but riders are encouraged to bring their own bikes, whatever they may be.
Please make sure you take lots of photos of your activities and share details of what you are doing with Norfolk County Council and Broadland Business Park. This is great evidence for your travel plan reviews and for sharing best practice.
As always, if you would like any further support, please do get in touch with Stevie Spencer, Sustainable Travel Plan Officer at Norfolk County Council.
